Torah #3 - Faith Like Abraham

Abraham reflects the kind person and leader that God wants to build into a great nation and give a great name in contrast to human efforts like Nimrod. He also exemplifies the kind of faith God wants His people have as they enter into Covenant with Him. The Abrahamic Covenant is what governs over our Redemption and pictures the work of Messiah on the Cross and Resurrection. The Aramaic Targums give insight into the active agent or representative for God in the Covenant process--in the Aramaic, He is called the Memra--the Word.
