What happens to the Patriarchs parallels their descendants and often the Messiah. In the life of Joseph, Messiah is greatly revealed in Rejection, being sent out & disguised, and finally revealed back to His people.
This plays out in the responses to the Revelation that God gives to Joseph and to Egyptians in the form of Dreams.
Through Rejection & Suffering, all Israel will be saved.
