5 6 24 Pastors Conference Memra

This teaching was given to local Baptist pastors with the purpose of showing them a few perspectives I have learned by coming in a Messianic direction that will hopefully help their own study and understanding of the Scriptures.

For example, if the description of Messiah's coming is littered throughout the text of the Tanakh, the Old Testament, how is it that the Jewish people did not recognize the time of His visitation? Mountains in the distance help us understand how they had a hard time separating the first and second coming of Messiah.

Next, I address the 4 signs the sages were expecting the Messiah to fulfill. Briefly, I encourage them that when they do word studies they always check with the Greek translation of the Old Testament called the Septuagint to find uses contexts for the words, how a New Testament word is used in the Old, or how an Old Testament word is used in the New. Lastly, I show them from the Aramaic translations of the Old Testament, called Targums the concept of the Word or Memra in Jewish thought.
