The Bible says that all believers in Messiah should pass through the waters of the Mikvah, also known as being baptized (Matthew 28:18-20). The Jewish people participated in Mikvah for various reasons, using it to mark transitions in life. From Childhood to adulthood, Singleness to Married, Married to Widowed. Men would immerse every time they went to the Temple for the Pilgrimage Feasts--thus at least 3 times a year.
